I hope it's ok to ask this here but got in my first thunderbolt monitor A1407 It charges a laptop just fine but nothing comes on the screen. I went to the screen with a high powered light and no picture either. I tried a seperate thunderbolt cable to the port on the back and still nothing. Also hooked it up to 2 machines. Not sure what to start checking on this one.

No schematic available for such thing.
You can check at least if get voltage on the regulated power supplies on its board.
Cinema displays had a classic issue with one 3V3 power regulator, but is dificil to troubleshoot these boards.
You should work on it with source machine and LCD both connected.

So even if it charges or runs a macbook with no battery it could still be on the power supply?

Was thinking I would check this out like it was a TV (what I used to repair) and sure enough used a TV LED tester and several were out. Took screen apart and 2 strips in there and 1 connector had fallen off but tested all and found 6 out also. Thinking I need to get those fixed first as some TVs will shut right down if not a proper current draw. Found used ones on Aliexpress so need to put this on back burner for a month and wait for them to get here.
