liquid damaged board, boot from charger only. ASD failed on battery test.

i tried with couple of know working battery. but OSX still not seeing battery, no battery info.

only corrosion was on lcd connector. which i've already repaired.

SMC area is clean.

R5380 - 2k
R5381 - 2k

U7100 :
17/18 2.7 ohms
27/28 20 ohms

with battery connected:
PPBUS_G3H - 7.74v
PPBUS_S5_HS_COMPUTING_ISNS - 7.74
PP3V42_G3H - 3.403v
PPVBAT_G3H_CONN line - 7.74v

whats next?

charging battery is intermittent. can power on with battery connected, sometime can charge.

ASD failed

Sensor - Temp (TCHP) - Charger Proximity

osx can see full battery info.

without battery, connect charger only. green/orange light is intermittent. but doesnt power the board on.

did i fuked something up or bad SMC?

Is that the only sensor error? Did you continue on error? What is the full error? Reading above/below limit, IO error?

Intermittent green light could be bad IO board/cable. What is PPBUS if green/orange light is not working?

Duke,

sensors are Intermittent. sometime i get Input air Flow sensor Failed in ASD,

it can power on with charger. It can power on with battery
but cannot charge battery. i have tried with 2 know working battery. OSX status: "battery is not charging"

i dont have a spare macbook air 11" magsafe to test.
but what are the chance the old one causing not to charge battery if it can power up charger only?

i've replaced the ISL again, now i get a 8.18v (should be 8.6v) in PPBUS with charger only. Battery i get 7.6v in PPBUS.

so SMC bad or something in the circuit pulling down?

IT will not charge the battery if it does not recognize a charger. It will power on without recognizing a charger.
8.2V on PPBUs means no comm with ISL6259, I guess you soldered it bad or killed it.

cocobattery can see battery info and charger info, i guess i need to replace the smc again?

when i connect charger and battery, i notice F7140 area get hot. when i first receive the board i did see solder balls on side of these large black caps but doesn't appear to be damage. also some small corrosion on Q7630 which i've replaced.

edit, U7600 get really hot, it has bubbles when i put IPA there. can this be the culprit ?

U7600 is probably bad or badly soldered Q7630.

Why replace SMC? You messed with the ISL and PPBUS went to 8.2.....

i've replaced Q7630 and U7600. it no longer get hot. but osx still say battery is not charging.

PPBUS is still 8.2

ASD passed all test.

can it be bad bios?

osx tries to charge, but the watts become Zero.

Again you messed with the 6259 then got 8.2V problem, is it that hard to conclude you messed up soldering the ISL6259?

Duke :p, you are a Genius, pin10 (SMBUS_SMC_5_G3_SDA) wasn't solder probably. looking from above, its a factory job. not sure how i missed this one. I think i got tired of this one after i replaced twice.

battery is now charging. so my new SMC is good after all
