g3h is steady now, yes def in S0 state
getting 5.17V on PP5V_S0_CPU_VCCIO probe 371
you even hear the board make a super faint little power squeak as it tries to turn on
not getting the 1.5V on PM_MEM_PWRGD probe 379
you think it's Q2820 shorting it to ground? or something else. not really...
figured i'd ask before i spend another few hours messing around with it
have a 13" 820-3023 which had liquid damage, cleaned
initially PPBUS_G3H was jumping around between 8.5 and 3.4V, so I replaced R7051, R7052, and R7002
magsafe is green and CPU gets warm within about a minute...
don't be so mean, give the little steam engine a chance. i still enjoy my 2009 2.0ghz with 10.8, a ssd, and wine to do everything, as long as the battery is not exploding too much and pushing against the trackpad
thanks louis but like i said, i already confirmed the LCD is fried. new question is how hard is it to repair lcd pcb and getting those heat shields off?
No Title
I haven't tried taken the shielding off the lcd pcb yet but was wondering if anyone else had and what the prospects for repair that would be (in such a situation like this, because the screen isn't cracked)
and i should have some cracked screens i could salvage the pcbs from
Yes just checked and getting 50v and interestingly enough when i put the probe there the screen intermittently illuminates. After giving it a few minutes it's almost steady now, but the screen is displaying garbage vertical colored lines. For the hell of it I put on another LCD and LVDS and...
fully functional except wasn't seeing screen, I cleaned and now just no backlight. Anyone have the schematic or board view? I tried using 820-3536 as everyone else recommends but the bottom where the damage was (U8330) side is different
Sorry for the delay, thanks for sending. The client picked up before I had time to try cleaning under any ram. Haven't heard a complaint yet so I guess it working fine. Thanks again
820-3536-A Liquid Spill, computer was working but running slow (idle 300%+) manually cleaned and everything now seems to be good. Only thing that obviously bad is the keyboard backlight is not working (lot of corrosion on both sides of connector but cleaned off well). I am getting some memory...
ok really weird, i had this on the shelf for the last month or so and the behavior i described was how it was last time i had it out messing and reading it, when i took it out of client's computer
and now when i tried it all again with a screen it's behaving totally different
still green light...
Functions 100% on cord but won't run off/charge battery
I get 1k instead of 2k on pull-up resistors R5281 and R5280, but when i replace with new I still get 1k, and the old ones measure proper 2k out of circuit.
is the board shorting together in that area? or is it more likely D6950 bridging...
