HI, as far as I know there aren't any schools. All the skills and the knowledge I have I have taught myself. Everything I do is on YouTube. We mainly do iPhone/iPod/iPad, but I am getting into mac repairs as well, especially macbook air and pro by just putting my experience into them.
Like Louis says, find your niche. Get everything you do on Youtube and website etc...
When I started out doing what i do now, after a lot of thinking I worked out - do what everybody else isn't.

Question about the 3 beeps in that machine... In a macbook pro you could just remove the ram from, you could just take out the ram to find out which stick is a problem. Could you just remove the ram chips one by one to see if anything changes or do they all have to be on the board for the thing...
I don't have as much experience as you guys on these boards, but I know you have talked about voltages so are you not able to measure where the voltage starts then stops or drops down then see what is between where the voltage is correct and where it is not?

For me, reading them is knowing what the problem is you have then finding the beginning and end of a circuit you may be looking at and filling in the gaps of: does this work or does it not?
Just read the thread: [solved] 820-2936 randomly turning off after liquid Ripple is mentioned in it quite a few times so is it something you will see when measuring voltage with a multimeter or something you would see on an oscilloscope?
