00840 no s4

820-00840 again..
this one had power problems initially, but after replacing both CD3215s i got it to go to 20v
it draws 0 amps
ppbus is present at 13V
S5 both 3.3v and 5v are there, i get S5_PWRGD
S4 isn't (no shorts found)
missing enables for S4
missing pm_batlow_l

I'm having a bad day and could use some guidance
by the way i have RTC and CLK at 32KHz

PM_BATLOW_L should be high.
Are you using 61/87W original charger?
Does it charge the battery?
Test if starts with both charger and battery connected.

yeah this is an original 87W charger

with battery connected its drawing around 1.1A and 12,5V is going into the battery. still no S4 though

Check PM_SLP_SUS_L, PM_RSNRST_L and PM_PWRBTN_L.
Trigger SMC_ONOFF_L and check for drop pulse at PM_PWRBTN_L.

PM_SLP_SUS_L = 3.32V
PM_RSMRST_L = 3.32V
PM_PWRBTN_L = 3.32V

triggered SMC_ONOFF_L gives drop pulse on PM_PWRBTN_L (drops to around 0,4V says multimeter)

ok. just continued testing, all above voltages are gone now, as is PP5V_S5..
in my understanding the enable for the PP5V_S5 comes from the PMIC through U7890, right?
If I dont have this, am i looking at a bad PMIC?

You must check LDO outputs of PMIC.
Do you have stable 3V3_G3H and PPBUS_G3H?

this one had a shorted PMIC. pp3v3_s5 was shorted under it.
