820-00165 not turning on

Hey, buddy, I got this mac had oxidation in component u7400, replaces it. Probably the u6100 oxidized, too.
It doesn't spin the cooler, it's only safe green/orange.

Voltage: PPbus_g3h 8.59V; PP3v43_g3h 3.42V; PP5v_s0 5.14V.

Do you get 3V3_S5/SUS?

Be aware, if U7400 was bad, CPU could be affected too.

Trigger SMC_ONOFF_L and check for drop pulse at PM_PWRBTN_L.
If yes, then chek for pulse at all PM_SLP_Sx_L signals.

Also try to start in SMC bypass mode...

PM_PWRBTN_L was 3.41V when triggering SMC_ONOFF_L dropped to 0.35V.
replaces u7400.
PP3V3_S3 / PP3V3_S5 3.36V;


PM_SLP_S0_L 3.34V dropped to 0.14V
PM_SLP_S3_BUF_L 3.33V no change when triggering
PM_SLP_S3_L 3.36V has dropped to 0V
PM_SLP_S3_R_L 3.36V has dropped to 0v
PM_SLP_S4_L 3.36 dropped to 0V
PM_SLP_S5_L 3.36V dropped to 0v
PM_SLP_SUS_L there was no change when triggering .

If you have steady PM_SLP_Sx_L signals, no need for trigger test.
The problem is that you didn't mention that.
PLEASE, POST ACCURATE and USEFULL information from beggining...

Do you get voltage on all big coils, including VCORE?
What about ALL_SYS_PWRGD?

When high, S3 voltages must appear.

"PM_SLP_S5_L 3.36V dropped to 0v"
When high, S0 voltages must appear.

Now check again coils voltages, AT THE SAME TIME when you get high pulse on mentioned PM_SLP_Sx_L signals...

I don't know what happened, but the PM_SLP_Sx_L signals
are all low, no need to trigger SMC_ONOFF_L.

I don't know how to interpret that.
How do you want to test, without triggering the power button???
PM_SLP_Sx_L signals must go high.

my friend, I don't have a high pulse on any of the PM_SLP_Sx signals, even triggering the SMC_ONOFF_L. I don't understand.

You said PM_SLP_S5/4_L drop from 3V to 0V.
In fact should go from 0V to 3V when you trigger SMC_ONOFF_L.

What is the actual state of your board?
Do you have mentioned signals high?
Drop to 0V when you trigger SMC_ONOFF_L, or what?
Is very dificil to understand you, if do not post accurate information...

PM_SLP_Sx_L high, I triggered SMC_ONOFF_L, PM_SLP_Sx_L was low. I tested the coils, Voltage:
L7130 1-8.59V/2- 8.85V
L7520 0v
L7560 3.36V
L7430 0v
L7630 0v
L7310 0v
L7320 0v

PM_SLP_S4_L 3.36V/ PM_SLP_S3_L 3.36V, previously did not have these voltages, and when I activate SMC_ONOFF_L the voltage drops to 0v in PM_SLP_Sx_L.

All PM_SLP_Sx_L signals drop from 3.36v to 0V when SMC_ONOFF_L is triggered.



Note: I used another io/power in this test, it was not lack of accuracy in the test.

Why do you trigger SMC_ONOFF_L, if the board is already turned on???
This test is supposed to be used when the board is off.
Please, make use of logic.

All this happens because you do not explain correctly the symptoms.

When all PM_SLP_Sx_L signals are high, check which voltages appear on the big coils (secondary supplies).
Also check ALL_SYS_PWRGD.

It must go high, at same time with PM_SLP_S3_L.
In fact is controlled by PM_SLP_S3_BUF_L, which comes from U8180; check if pulses at least.

Do you mean steady 3V at PM_SP_S3_BUF_L?
Then you should have 3V at pin 16/U7600 too; unless R8185 is open.

Post some voltages for U7600; pins 12, 16, 17, 6, 5, 9.
Check R/C7630.
