Just in case, did you check L3500 and L9580 too?
Are placed on the other side of the board.
OK, the short is now found; it is U9580.
Remove U9580 and check diode mode to ground at L9580/81 again.
If still short there, at least one NAND chip is fried.
The short from PPBUS_G3H to ground, will of course disapper.
Thank you for all your help. So I gave up and reassembled the Mac today. I did a little test before preparing the package. I see it's taking from 0.11 to 1.06 amp when I press the power button. So I tried to put it in DFU, that works. I tried "revive" but it failed with "the operation couldn't be completed (AMRetoreErrrorDomain error 6 - Failed to handle message type StatusMsg (Operation failed) ... Is it worth try with Apple GSX server ?
