820-02100 water damage power cycle

The computer had liquid damage. Everything worked fine except the keyboard, so I decided to replace it. I found corrosion around UR760, cleaned the area, and replaced UR760 to prevent future damage.

Since then, whenever I connect the charger with or without the battery the charger starts at 5V, rises to 20V, then immediately shuts off and restarts the cycle (about 3 seconds in total). It behaves the same way on all charging ports.

All voltage rails appear normal, and I couldn’t find any short on the board. Could UR760 really cause this behavior?

UR760 and its friends, as in, other amplifiers, have demonstrated many times in my practice that they can be internally shorted without any detectable short on the nearby power rails. Yeah it can cause this behavior. It's either a) faulty; b) didn't solder well; c) you might have overheated it, it's easily damaged. Lift it up again and see what happens.
