"Battery has been replaced, no change."
Tested with known good battery, or just tried new chinese one?

Check system report in about this mac menu.
You should get more information about battery there.

New Chinese copy, but 3 different ones were tied, and behavior is exactly like the OEM that was pulled for this issue. System report battery info all seems to be present. Is there something specific you would like to know from there?

Cycles, charge capacity...
If all this info appears, then communication between SMC and battery is OK.

Check Q7155 voltages.
Also post voltage for U7100, pins 9, 15, 26.
Run ASD EFI version.

You should get proper ASD for test.
EFI version is good enough.

Try the batteries in other system, or get a known good one, even old, just for test.

I thought after after early 2013 they switched to ASD 2 which runs through the Apple servers? Do you know where I can get a copys for later machines?

ASD works untill 2014.
Your machine requires 3S162 version.

Use Google, it will probably find some torrent...

Those errors popped up because some of the cables were not connected. I put the entire machine back together, ran it again and everything passed. I also tried with a working OEM battery, still not charging.

That will not block battery charge.
But IPBR and ID0R will do.
Check again if these erros went off really.

Sure enough, it failed for IPBR and ID0R on this go around, and the other error disappeared.
