A2442 Macbook pro 14 M1 pro 820-02098 Liquid damage

Hi, i have A2442 820-02098 with liquid damage, I was able to get it fixed but I did not completely, i get error 21 in apple configurator 2 in recovery mode and in DFU mode also but for 10 seconds compare apple logo and after it disappears (i tried revive and restore, but it does't help). I thought that the problem could be bad NAND it was visually brown a litlbit, up to here I was able to turn on the mac, I tried to remove bad NAND UN000, and replace on with UN000 from A2337 board, but this dont help, i have all nand voltages and i visually I checked everything more times and I have no short circuit. Specifying that I have 20v with magsafe. It's probably not even the nand's problem, because I can't figure out what error 21 can be related to.



I also have problem with RENESAS 209100B because I don't have the lcd backlight, I have image but the backlight does’t, i raplaced bad ic, but backlight does't compare, probably liquid enter in screed asembly and i need teardown it to for chek, becasuse with screen connected i dont have voltage on PPVOUT_LUXE, but when i disconnect cable it compare 14 volt.

Unfortunately I have no other 820-02098 board to compare values and test screen.

I didn't specify that even before removing nand I was able to enter dfu but I always had error 21

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Do you get image after changing NAND chip, but no before?
Did you replace with same top marking code chip?
Which was SSD capacity on both boards?

I have apple logo for aboud 10 sec before and after chaging NAND in dfu mode tried restore and revive. i replace UN000 with UN000 from A2337 they are bouth same capacity 128gb for single nand, and same production vendor KICM232 on A2442 512GB on A2337 256gb because A2442 have four nand with single 128gb and A2337 two nand with single 128gb.

Shouldn't touch SSD, if you got image.
Why didn't test SSD with Disk Utility, using external monitor?
You can still do that now.
Missing backlight can be cause by bad LCD assembly.
You should test with compatible known good, before digging more on the board.

ok, but how can test ssd with disk utility if i cant boot mac, i mean that both now and before i always have appl logo and the same error 21, and i can't start the mac, i get the apple logo for a few seconds and then that's it, i can't start revovery.

i remembered that even before i remove nand and after apple logo i have circle with a line through it, likein photo one off this, now i dont remember with one

Machine stuck in Apple logo, or restarts?
Force it off and try to start in Tardet Disk mode (if possible).

Does it automatically start in Recovery mode?

Sorry for my communication error, what I wrote above is wrong. I was able to fix the damaged nand and i'm back to how it was from the start when i got the mac

Now I have the mac with exactly this screen, when I press the power button I hear the typical noise when the mac is turned on and exactly this image comes out, with exclamation point inside the circle and written apple restore below, from this point the mac doesn't restart but it stays like this, there is no boot loop, just a fixed screen with this image. i tried to hold power button and it snow me apple logo with the writing "cargando opciones de arranque" what mean loading boot options, and after a few seconds it desapeare and mac restart to esclamation poit inside the circle.

Connecting to another mac with apple configurator 2 executing revive or restore I get an error 21

Connecting the external monitor both with hdmi and with DP there is no image

Do you have expirience with replacing nand on A2442?

I repair more for other service, they will not pay NAND replacement.
Didn't get any board with dead SSD from direct customer yet.
