iPhones iPads etc. Is it worth the time for the money?

Hi.

I bought myself ZXWtool as I thought maybe it would be another service to provide to generate more income / interest as a hell of a lot more people own phones and iPads than Macs. Thing is though, with MacBooks and such, you can earn a good pay for sometimes no more than 15 minutes work including reassembly time.

But phones etc, how much can I reasonably expect people to pay? I don't want to come over wrong here but this is my life. Minutes, hours & days I will never get back... If a job does not pay well and improve my quality of living, I'm not fucking doing it.

Ultimately, you don't really know until you know for yourself but any thoughts from those that know, would be greatly appreciated please.

For iPhones and iPads only do easy jobs, "No Service" send back immediately, I do the iPhone/ipads repairs between macbook repairs but no more than 15 minutes, if the client has a hurry, I advice him to take is phone some other shop, phone owners are always in hurry and kicking your nuts every 30 minutes if you are lucky..

iPads absolutely not, too much fucking around with a glued digitizer, dust and dents.
iPhones only quick repairs like a connector or a shorted cap, no BGA rework ever.
Exceptions are of course when someone wants to pay $400, but those are very rare. The rest can go to Mohammed on the corner.

Yeah, no money in screen repairs. $20 profits on a screen repair. For that $20 you have to deal with hell. For example, "oh it looks different", "is the glass kind of not flushed with housing", "oh it's not responsive as my cracked screen". Louis saw this in his magic ball long time ago....

I will share what looks like not popular opinion, REPAIR IPHONES ARE TOTALY WORTH IT. Remember despite what every one tells you, you dont have to charge $20 for repair AND you DONT have to use cheap screens. You can buy original screens and charge $40-50 for repair(parts+$40-50). However that requries proper possitioning and investment. Beside that you have to able to do soldering and understand how to fix iphone on electronic level. There will be instances where you brake filter or resister that will make phone not to turn on. it sucks, but you have to fix it.
Dont take bent iphones for repair, dont take bent ipads for repair. you can filter you customers if you market your business properly properly.

Abviously my recomendatiosn will not work in most highly competitive enviroments. We have few business to compete in small town, and than there craiglist and others. I have 5 people working on 300-400 hundred devices each month (mostly phones) in my business but It took about 3 years to get here... so not an option for most people .. also we probably wouldnt servive doing only screen replacement we do data recovery and difficult motheboard repairs all the time. Usually those repairs are $70-130 which most of the time worth to do in eyes of teh customers.

Well, I do believe iPhone repairs, especially screen replacements is not really worth it, due to cost of screens (good quality screens) on the rise. That's why we got into the microsoldering stuff for iPhone repairs, in order to differentiate than other screen flippers. Now we are trying to focus more and learn more about MacBook logic board repair, because more people are willing to pay to have their 1k+ dollar items fixed.
