is data recovery from flash media and hdd/ssd worth it?

100+ is peanuts. The hardware/software for data recovery is MUCH more expensive then for fixing a board. Data recovery that requires anything beyond some software should cost 500+

Out of hundreds of customers I have had through the door, who had lost there data, only two where prepared to pay more than £100.00 to get there data back. This stat sticks in my head.

I remember one chap, who lost ALL family pictures, he even cried in our reception. I remember telling him this will cost more than £100, probably £700 - £800. Even he wasn't remotely interested.

There are other services you could offer which would offer value and regular revenue to your business.

Data recovery is a weird thing when it comes to value. You can possibly give the customer everything they want, but if it is expensive then forget it, but as Duke says, getting about the ability for you to be able to do it is probably not a cheap thing. I would say keep prices higher, also if someone needs data recovery due to the not having data backed up, they are just begging for problems and deserve them due to the fact that making data safe is so easy to do.
