Is iPad Repair good business?

I wasn't thinking about expanding and doing repairs on ipads such as board repairs, screen, charger port, home button replacements. I was doing some googling and I don't see many places that do iPad screen repairs or logic board repairs. I was mainly interested in the iPad Pro's since those cost upwards of $1000 and Apples website says they do the screen repairs for $379(9.7inch) - $599(12.9inch). I figure that could be done for much cheaper but maybe there is something I am missing like the difficulty of doing them.

Is there a reason I don't see iPad repairs on your website except for data recovery even though the Pro's are almost as expensive as the MBA's larossmann ?

have a look at apples iphone 7 screen replacement charge, its all about cost of parts, for me ipad pro screens are $600 each and iphone 7 is $240, (AUD) these prices come down once the chinese start making copies, we cant compete with apple until there are copies. if you want to do ipads, you should do all of them, for me i mostly do ipad mini 1 and 2 and ipad 3 and 4

How much profit do you make on the ipad screen replacements and are board repairs worth it for the iPad 3/4/minis since they are so cheap?

because ipad repair sucks. Customers scream at screens being around $100 because someone else does it for $75. Good parts for mini are $35ish, a lot of the parts have issues with ghost touch & other bs. that same time can be spent doing a retina screen where $85 becomes $400, a logic board repair where the magic of my hands becomes $325, hdd data recovery where $250 becomes $900. Do I want to argue with someone who says their screen cracked on its own on a $40 repair or answer questions on this forum? I look to fill my time doing what I want to get paid doing, iPad repair isn't it.

In addition to being low margin, high PITA, with no shortage of crap parts, you also have the issue that people expect it while they wait. So let me put down the $400 repair that will work to do the $50 one that will ghost touch in two weeks.. no thanks.

for ipad board repairs, for data recovery, sure. for anything else, not worth it.

You have to do everything where I live in Colorado. Maybe I'll have to start onsite handholding in a couple years. That will be painful. Lol

You don't want to do iPad repairs, trust me. I'd rather work minimum wage then do that ever again.

People expect the cheapest prices and the highest service, even more then they do with iPhones.
I legit had customers come in the flashlight on their phone checking for little pieces of dust underneath the screen (Which are not visible without flashlight or when the screen is on).

i know this is a late reply, but when customers are picky I turn their screen on and I ask them to see if they can find the bits of glass while the screen is on, none have ever said yes, then I tell them its normal for this type of repair if they want is for $80AUD, if they are willing to pay $120AUD I can spend more than an hour and have no tiny flex of glass on it. otherwise it is what it is , otherwise pay $300AUD and send it to ipad rehab and they will send it back perfect for you
