In general damage there kills the NAND chips. Mesure resistance to ground on SSD power rails before wasting time replacing the chip.

As a reminder resistance to ground must be measured when board/CPU is dead cold and all power drained from it.

On 4924 the fan won't spin unless the CPU is very hot.

Did you check charging circuit current paths sensing and fuse?
