i'm rather new to repairing non-apple motherboards. this boards has a problem with +3valp. I was getting a low resistance to ground on the rail and i injected 1v. the pch got warm so removed it. the short seemed to be gone but when it comes back when the charger is connected. i'm getting 5v...
i think that this board has an internal short. using the thermal cam, It get visibly warmest around r5600 when i inject voltage on ppbus. i've removed all components from that area and it still does the same. I dont see a burn though
this board is charging the battery because it ramps up to 1.8 amps on the meter. it will go into dfu and it will go through a revive but it never powers up at all. pm_slp_sus_l is 3v . pm_slp_s5_l is 0v. is this a chipset issue?
it's able to charge the new battery and it booted and worked fine but now it charges but it won't powe up anymore. I was able to use the apple configurator and that still didn't bring it back to life. ppbus is 13v and slp_sus_l is 3.3v but slp_sus_s5 is 0v
i'm confused about this board. the battery doesn't charge and the fan ramps to full speed everytime. only one usb-c port works everytime and sometimes the other does. the board appears very clean with no signs of corrosion. Can this board operate without a working battery?
this 820-2915 board works and then sometimes the fan will ramp up and it gets laggy. sometimes it passes the diagnostics and sometimes the tm0p sensor error.
i have another one of these boards. the cpu vcore is missing. Imvp_vr_on is 3.3v. the fans spin then stop. pm_slp_s4 remains at 3.3v after the fans stop.
when i add the clean ME region then the hdd won't detect in the bios. It detects with the old dump. Is there a way to repair the ME without using flash image tool?
One of the boards has an intel ME issue. It takes about ten seconds to post on a cold boot. I tried to clean the ME section of the dump and the hard drive doesn't detect with a cleared ME. this board has intel boot guard and i toggled with the setting but still no luck
well i put the system back together using the "fixed" board and it ran for while until unplugged it and then it would not come back on. It turns out that pbtn_out# failed again so i flashed the EC and now this board is doing the exact same thing. This is a revision 2 board but i used the...
+3V_PCH pulses at 3v then drops back to 0v. pbtn_out# doesn't pulse with the charger unless you hold down the power button for 10 seconds. then it goes from 3v to 0v and stays at 0v but when the power button is pressed it will pulse at 3v. Pbtn_out# will pulse right away with only the battery...
