I should mention pr8015 is only reading 3.4 ohm (6.4k should be on this), and pr8011 is only 154 ohm (23.2k should be on this). These are near the liquid effected area, so maybe I need to swap these out? I haven't found anything else this far off from specs in the schematic.
Just getting beck to this today....
The BV was a help. Checked if BIOS recovery worked, and it doesn't, so before trying a manual programming, I have been checking around the replaced chip. R0609 has 1.8v at pin 1 but not pin 2. Tests 4.7k Ohm. If this is PWR OK, shouldn't 1.8v go all the way...
Came in for repair and would cut all power when on switch was pressed. Found UP9505S had pin 16 damage from an old liquid spill.replaced the chip and fixed the pad. Powers on, keyboard lights up for a second. After about 10 seconds both fans max out. Hold power button will shut down after about...
Body bent, not much but enough.
Looking at R4513 first, and it was missing. Pretty sure this is now solved. Will verify by end of the day, just for a few things to do first.
Board had slight bend, replaced pretty much everything, but the board never seems to work with built in tp/kb. Bought a macbook pro to test and the parts I got are good on the test system. the tp feedback still works, not that it matters with this design, but 3.3v and 5v are also present. Afraid...
Thought I turn off my subscription when I moved, and just getting a work flow going again, so it's good to still have this active.
I try another part and see if that works. I don't have a working model on hand, but I'll update this when I get parts in. Thanks.
KB/TP don't work in the OS, and don't show as connected. SMC reset works.
I need to turn my subscription back on to edit my typos... Thought it would prompt me to subscribe when I went to make a post. Rules must have changed here or my account is bugged.
Shift+Ctrl+Opton SMC reset works. Can't boot recover, no KB BL coming on. System was bent slightly, Replaced palmrest and screen. Same issue with replacement touchpad and keyboard. So I checked LB700, no power, looked at QB701, 11.8v on pin 8 with battery connected. Does this mean UB700 isn't...
the fix was to flash Super I/O. Connection was done through keyboard connection. Still used the TL866 II to flash it, then flashed a matching EC and BIOS. Everything is working again.
Got the chip needed from an AW Ranger. Used BIOS ver. A00. and programmed before placing it on the board and flashed EC to match. First boot was 5 beeps (normal after BIOS rest) power on to black screen, no beeps, reboots after about 1 minute and does the same, reboot, black screen. BIOS...
Schematic says it should be W25Q64FVSSIQ, my board has 25Q32FVSIQ, and when I go to read it, the software says "external short or IC revers or incorrect package".
Second Winbond chip is EC. 25Q80DV, marked on the board as UE2, BIOS is UH4. There is flux left around and on both of these chips...
I was just able to get around to placing the order for a programmer. Found a US seller for the TL866li Plus. Never used a EEPROM tool before, but I doubt it will be hard to manage. ME region is in the same chip, right? These boards have two Winbond chips, Should i do a dump of both?
I had found instructions for BIOS recovery on an Alienware forum and it starts, but I can't seem to get a file to load. I get a flash on the USB drive and then nothing. Tried the instructions from Dell for BIOS recovery but the process doesn't work.
notebookforums has this:
I'm assuming...
Power on cycles 3 times befor giving 7 beeps error.
sualaptop365.edu.vn_15or17 LA-B753P.pdf is the schematic file name I found for this board. No boardview available but chips are labeled on the board.
UA4 gets warm (audio amp, starts getting warm when beeps start, not crazy hot, just warm)...
Diode mode test +INVPWR_B+ (LCD connected) gave me nothing.
Gate to source has low resistance at .758
R423 is at 48k
I tested this same P MOSFET on a scrap Alienware 17 Ranger I have ( used the same circuit design according to the schematics for it 'compal LA-9331P' ) Gate to source resistance...
Testing Q45 again.
