Hi. Just got off the phone to a potential business customer who tell me there is a port somewhere on the new MacBooks to gain access to the SSD for data recovery... Is this right?
I have not looked at it yet. But looking at the 12" model there is none. Also the SSD requires many voltages, so the board needs to sort of power on. I doubt it will be that easy, but people who want their data will make up BS stories like this.
Thing is, if a board is totally fucked that's it. Could just fix up an insurance write off board and have it there ready to slap the SSD onto, power up and pull off the data. I'm not so sure how many uses you would get from one board though.
Most certainly would like to hear more about that tool
I have the device, and I have already seen a few dead 2016 model macbook pros. Since Apple have no parts for the 2016 available at the moment, they are exchanging these computers.
I'll try to use the device tomorrow
I have also seen a few of the 2016 macs with graphics anomalies, not looking good...however this has nothing to do with this thread, so i'll stfu....
