Just off the top of my head here.

Firstly, donor boards are by far the most valuable thing to have.

Aliexpress is where to buy donor boards.I would buy three of every board from 2011-2015. don't bother doubling up on air boards, just buy the 13" air boards, not 11" http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2012...-1&btsid=426877e8-56bf-40e0-94c6-5b1ca906834d is an example of 820-3115 donors.
Do not buy boards that other people have tried to fix, or boards with liquid damage as the components will be bad.

I've found that for short jumper wire runs I can use the wire from a MagSafe DC In board, it's probably similar to what's in a battery.

For longer runs that need to be insulated, cut open a small, mechanical relay. The coil in there will be wrapped with a LOT of enamel (insulated) wire that is just the right size for jumpers.
