Its a previous repair attempt, initially it wasn't turning on, fixed it and now there is no backlight, i checked backlight enable and that was low, so i tracked it and found that smc_lid is around 1.9v, removed r5050 and its a partial short, diode mode measurement is 0.081 and i have already...
So i have this board that doesn't boot up, fan spins and i have cpu vcore, i tried plugging in usb mouse,
but it doesn't light up and pch is getting hot.
i have rtc voltage and its 3.3ish, so what next??
I managed to restore ppbus and it was around 12.30volts and green light did came up for few minutes but then i saw broken traces in second or third layer and a short in s0 rail, so i declared it dead
I think its probably dead, there was explosion on firewire circuit, and it has destroyed many traces underneath that chip
and there is short on 3v3s0 line aswell
Its water damaged board and there is no green light.
pp3v42 is 3.56 volts and i am getting smc_bc_acok and sys_onewire signals on respected chips but i still don't get green light on charger, i have tried reflowing smc but still nothing happened.
What else should I try?
It was a liquid damage board, the spill was around q7130 area.
i have cleaned and replaced all components, there is a short on system side of l7130, i haven't looked into yet as i was trying to get ppbus before hunting that short, so long story short i have replaced all components including...
Its 1.269 volts.
this board had ripped battery connectors and pads for data lines were missing, i have put jumper wires on it and getting around 3.4 volts on both lines, do you think there might be something wrong with those pads?
Okay, so i checked it throughly and it seems that machine will turn on by battery just once, that means it will only power on when battery is connected after that if i shut down it and try to turn it on, it won't react to power button, it will only turn on if i keep holding power button for 10...
I have a 820-3437 which takes long to wake up once it has gone to sleep, it just happens when machine is running on battery, with charger plugged in, it wakes up fine.
i have replaced battery, keyboard and io board but it does the same thing.
already reflowed smc at 150, but nothing is changed...
I will try it on Monday, i measured resistance to ground on cpu vcc rail and it was around 0.7 ohms and it gives 0 volts drop on diode mode. Is this normal?? I tried removing 3 chips for cpu vcc and powered it, the fans starts spinning too(didn't removed u6100 this time) but when board is...
Its Its not working on smc bypass mode, i removed u6100 and fans started spinning and all power rails comes up.
i can see light in usb mouse when its plugged in
